Frankfurt am Main, July 21, 2021: From 16-17 September 2021, the IMPACT FESTIVAL will take place in Frankfurt am Main/ Offenbach and will attract all innovative actors of sustainable economic as well as social change.

With the founding of the IMPACT FESTIVAL in April 2020, the main incubator, research and development unit and early-stage investor of Commerzbank Group, has built up a unique network of partners and contacts in the green tech scene, making it one of the most relevant B2B platforms for sustainable technology and innovation within Europe. More than 40 partners including the European Commission, KI Bundesverband, German Startups Association, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), Commerzbank, Landwirtschaftliche Rentenbank, Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering IAO, de:hubs and many more.

In the run-up to the festival, the IMPACT WEEK will take place from 10-16 September 2021, where citizens, initiatives, companies, municipalities and institutions from the Rhine-Main region can participate in the sustainable shaping of our society and economy with their own event.

The two-day main event will be the first major post-pandemic event to be held in Frankfurt am Main/Offenbach from 16-17 September 2021, taking into account and complying with all applicable hygiene regulations and safety measures.

With an event area of more than 10,000 m2, the Fredenhagenhalle in Offenbach offers space for more than 100 corporate and start-up exhibitors to present their sustainable ideas. These ideas range from software solutions for measuring the carbon footprint of companies and products, platforms for a sustainable circular economy and new environmentally friendly materials to extraordinary plastic-eating worms.

But not only companies and start-ups have the opportunity to present their innovative concepts at the festival, but also students from all over the world. The international winning teams of the IMPACT CHALLENGE, which was launched together with the Frankfurt-based TechQuartier, will have the opportunity to present their sustainable ideas to a large audience on stage.

In addition to the exhibitors, there will also be a large supporting programme with many keynote speeches by various high-profile speakers from politics and business. These include Prof. Dr. Maja Göpel (political economist), Tarek Al-Wazir (Hessian Minister of Economics), Bettina Orlopp (Commerzbank), Roberta Boscolo (World Meteorological Organization), Hans J. Schellnhuber (Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research), Christine Lemaitre (DGNB), Inas Nuredin (Tomorrow), Daniela Bohlinger (BMW), Christian Kroll (Ecosia) and many more.

“We are delighted to have created Europe’s first community-based platform with the IMPACT FESTIVAL, bringing together all the relevant players in the field of sustainable innovation at both regional and European level. Together with all participants, we hope to create innovative and scalable solutions for a sustainable future with the synergies that arise there,” explain Kai Werner and Matthias Lais, managing directors at main incubator.

These players include regional companies from the Rhine-Main region as well as internationally active corporations, but also green start-ups and investors who, brought together, can accelerate the sustainable transformation of our economy and society.

The location will be open to visitors from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm on both days of the event.
